QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Cervical collar for a tracheostomized sailor.

I am looking for a firm which can make a neck cervical collar for a tracheostomized sailor.
The collar should have a tear-off opening adjustable to the size and should also have two frontal openings: in one of the two must be positioned a small tube connected with a small oxygen bottle.
Do you know of anyone who could make something like this?
Thanks a lot.

I have spoken with our otorhinolaringologists who have been engaged with the making of a collar for a tracheostomized patient. In that case collar was manufactured by our technicians. We are now looking for collars ready on the market: I shall let you know about the findings.

We advise you to address to the firma CAMP TIELLE which sells various kinds of neck cervical collars. The patient could ask the catalogue and have the collar made by a technician of his town.

Unfortunately up to now I haven't received any relevant information on the matter. I don't believe, in any case, that would be easy in the future to find something which prevents from the drowning persons who have a permanent hole in their throat.
As regards myself, other problems have summed up in the meanwhile: a paralysis of left arm and hand with a movement capability of 10%.
My spirit is now, of course, not very high: I have give up to the dream of sailing.
I thank you for your assistance and I hope that the research will continue so that some others can succeed where I did not.
